The Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential posters have suddenly appeared in Kano, taking over signboards on major streets sparking speculation about his 2027 aspirations.
Some of the posters read “His Excellency Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde for President, Federal Republic of Nigeria,” courtesy of Nigeria Youths Awareness Group Makinde 2027 (NYAG Makinde 2027).
The posters were spotted at several major roundabouts in the city, including those along Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Katsina road, and the Sabon Gari area, all bearing the inscription “2027 Makinde for President”.
It could be recalled that, the Nigeria Youths Awareness Group Makinde 2027 (NYAG Makinde 2027) threw its weight behind Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambitions in a press conference held in Kano over the weekend.
The group argued that Makinde’s leadership skills made him the ideal candidate to propel Nigeria forward, appealing to Nigerians to support him regardless of party lines.
The group leader in Kano, Alhaji Lawal Abdullahi, declared, “We have met as different groups and have agreed to have a common front for Seyi Makinde for President 2027. We are a moving train, and no one can stop us until we achieve our objective of a Seyi Makinde presidency.”
“We have made consultations with prominent politicians and eminent personalities across the country, and we have their support. The Seyi Makinde 2027 project is a massive movement that will catch on and spread like wildfire,” he said.
